DIY: Body scrub.

Hello everybody!

I wanted to share this 'recipe' with you. I found it at a dutch Beautyblog www.beautylab.nl, the owner Serena made this body scrub and she explained it all in a youtube video. Since it is Dutch, I wanted to make it too, but of course the English version! The scrub is just amazing, I used some different oils than Serena did, but that's only because I couldn't find the ones she used. I hope you are interested and if so, please read further.

What you need for the scrub:
Salt
Sugar
Oils, I used coconut oil, walnut oil, wheat germ oil and sunflower oil
Scented oils.

What you need to make it:
Bowl, to mix it
Microwave, to melt the coconut oil
Container, I used a glass version
A spoon.

How to make it:
First I put one and a half spoon of coconut oil in a bowl of glass and put it in the microwave for 1 or 2 minutes. This is because the coconut oil is a solid oil and for this recipe you have to use liquids. When that is melted, put it in another bowl and also add some walnut oil, wheat germ oil and sunflower oil. Now you can choose if you want to make a scrub with sugar or salt. Salt won't melt as fast as sugar does, but it is bigger so that way it is more scrubbing.
I forgot to buy extra salt, so I used sugar and some salt because otherwise I wouldn't have had enough. Once you've added the sugar/salt, just mix it together and add more oils if you think the scrub is to dry, when your scrub is too wet just add more sugar or salt.
I personally like it more when it is more on the wetter side rather than on the dry side because you have to use more.

Once you have the texture you love, you can add some scented oils. Bare in mind to get the right ones, not the ones you can use to make a room smell nice, because those are the ones that will irritate the skin. I used lavender and rosemary, Serena from beautylab.nl said it was this perfect Spa scent. You will only have to use just a few drops since the oils are quite strong. When you've done that you can store them in a container and start using it!

Tip: if you try not to get the scrub with wet hands, it will last you longer. Because if you are getting some scrub with wet hands, water with bacteria's will come in the product that's not a good thing :P

I hope you liked this first DIY, let me know if you're going to try it out!
